Exciting Lightsaber Battles
One of the most popular things about Star Wars is the lightsaber. It is a weapon of unimaginable power that we all wish we could get our hands on. Some of the movie’s most iconic fights involved the lightsaber in some capacity or another. However, there has been a large debate amongst the Star Wars community over which lightsaber fight was the most exciting. Fortunately, we picked a couple of the best lightsaber fights that we enjoyed the most. Let’s take a look at them and explain in-depth why they’re our favorites.
Obi-Wan vs. Darth Vader
This is the first major lightsaber fight that we ever see in the Star Wars series. Elderly Obi-Wan confronts Darth Vader on the death star as he tries to block the heroes’ exit. Obi-Wan challenges his old apprentice one more time to a lightsaber duel. This fight is packed with small subtle nuances that Star Wars fans can appreciate. While it doesn’t have the VFX of the prequels or sequels, you can most certainly tell that the two old men are trying to determine who is the better fighter once and for all.
Count Dooku vs. Yoda
Attack of The Clones is considered to be one of the best prequels. It helps explain the creation of the clone army and it is the first time we see Anakin Skywalker as an official padawan. However, everyone was shocked whenever Yoda walked in on the battle with Count Dooku and pulls out his own lightsaber to battle. We always knew that Yoda was a venerable old Jedi master, but we have never seen him unleashed like this. The fight is a spectacle to be seen and is truly captivating. Yoda holds his own against Count Dooku and eventually causes him to retreat.
Kylo Ren and Rey vs Praetorian Guards
One of the most visually stunning battles of the series happens inside Snoke’s red room. After he is cut down by Kylo Ren, the Praetorian Guards rush both Kylo and Rey. It seems as if they are on the ropes as both characters are easily outnumbered. However, they turn the tables by using stunning amounts of teamwork and sheer power of the force to overcome this obstacle. This was by far one of the best fights of The Last Jedi.
