Three of the Wealthiest People You’ve Never Heard Of

If you’ve ever taken a trip to Dubai, you will know that the world is filled with independently wealthy individuals. With that being said, there is a tier even above those that have accrued their own wealth. When we talk about rich, we are talking about REALLY rich. Today, we are going to introduce you to three of the wealthiest people that you’ve likely never heard of. While their names might not mean much to you, all of the commas in their bank account will definitely leave an impression. Don’t worry, however, these world-class billionaires aren’t just known for their wealth, they are also predominant figures in the political and socioeconomic landscape. They’ve definitely worked for their money!

1) Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi – $2 Billion

The veritable ruler of one of the most beautiful Emirates in the UAE, Sheikh Saud has definitely made an impression with his wealth. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi’s net worth hovers around the $2 billion mark, due in large part to the portfolio of funds he manages as the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. Sheikh Saud was educated at home, but it wouldn’t be long before he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in PolScience and Economics at the University of Michigan in the United States. From there, Sheikh Saud would go on to become Chief of the Ruler’s Court in 1979 and then the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah in 2003. Sheikh Saud would become the head of RAK in 2010. We only wish we could have that sort of career trajectory, or at least a billion dollars.

2) Eliodoro Matte – $2.9 Billion

Next up on the rotating wheel of billionaires that you’ve never heard of is Eliodoro Matte. This Chilean-born billionaire operates as the President of CMPC, a Chilean paper and forestry company. Matte took over the family business from his father and he has since grown the value of the company tremendously. Eliodoro attended the University of Chile for his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Industrial Engineering before transferring to the Booth School of Business in Chicago. In Chicago, Eliodoro wold receive his MBA while diversifying his global and cultural index of knowledge. CMPC operates through four primary business centers, including pulp, forestry, paper, and tissue. While each business operates independently of the other, Matte is in charge of overseeing them all. The kind of pressure that Matte must feel would be enough to send us to bed early.

3) James Leprino – $5 Billion

James Leprino is the king of cheese, at least that’s what we’d like to call him. Leprino inherited the family cheese company back in the ’50s. Since taking over the business, Leprino has grown Leprino Foods into a global juggernaut in the food industry. Leprino Foods is the primary provider of cheese for chains like Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Domino’s, and more. If you’ve ever had a Hot Pocket or a frozen lasagna dinner, you’ve eaten from the fountain of wealth that has made the Leprino family so rich.
